Visiting friends who’ve known you  forever is definitely good r & r therapy. The shared history, the intimate knowing of each others’ lives makes get togethers deeply comfortable. Like old lovers, old friends share a deep connection. It isn’t frothy like new love or new friends. We don’t have to seduce each other. We just need to hang out, share a meal or movie or quiet companionability on a walk or drive. I’m finding this to be a great respite. “Old friends, bookends. “Simon and Garfunkel had it just right.

Hadn’t planned to post today but why not. It’s still Saturday and we’re settling down for the night. Consider this a little night cap blog to close off a lovely day.
